Fund Story

The “Power for Good” Community Endowment Fund was started in 1993. This fund makes grants based on what the community needs at a given time. Grants go to education, the arts, health and human services, the environment, and more. These grants benefit the entire community.

Each year, Unity is able to make grants to local organizations from the Power for Good Fund. In 2024, Unity granted $210,000 to local nonprofits, supporting critical programs that make a difference every day.

Through December 31, 2025, every $1 donated to this fund will be matched with $2 by Lilly Endowment Inc. That means your donation is TRIPLED!

  • Your gift is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
  • You will receive a tax receipt electronically for your records once your donation is processed.
  • Gifts by credit card incur a processing fee for each transaction which will be deducted from your gift. The current fee is 3.5% per transaction. When donating online, we invite you to select the option to increase your gift to cover this fee so that your charitable intent can be fully realized.

  • If you prefer to donate by check, our mailing address is 422 Franklin St, Suite C, Michigan City, IN 46360. Please include the fund name(s) you wish to donate to in the memo line.
