Huge Moment in Time for the Vibrant Communities of La Porte County Initiative at the Summit on the Future
La Porte County, IN (November 25, 2019) – The Vibrant Communities Initiative will host a first-of-itskind event for the community of La Porte County on December 4th in the La Porte Civic Auditorium. The Summit on the Future event represents the next step in the Vibrant Communities Initiative. During the
meeting participants will receive information from the first round of community conversations followed
by a discussion on the direction of the work to come. The input gathered during the Community
Conversation Workshops held throughout the county has led to the development of a communitywide
vision to guide the county forward. The Summit is an opportunity for everyone passionate about the
future of their community to help refine the vision, identify major themes and make big choices about
investing in the future.
“The Summit is a big-time opportunity for our communities. It represents a chance for us to share what
we’ve learned so far and determine how we want to proceed” said Jack Arnett, Executive Director of the
La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “This is a unique opportunity for all our communities to
define the vision that will guide us for decades to come. We’ll also be discussing the major themes
facing our communities that will lead to the final action agenda for us to implement.”
The La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Unity Foundation of La Porte County are
coordinating the Vibrant Communities Initiative with support from local partnerships. The final action
agenda will include numerous programs, policies and projects that strive to address major trends
impacting La Porte County. The vision will serve as the overarching guide for all the major themes and
