Fund Story

Ida Reffett was a dedicated La Porte High School teacher who stressed the importance of communication skills to a young life. Through her instruction, students were inspired to think and express themselves clearly, building confidence and leadership skills. Former student, and current La Porte attorney, Michael Drayton initiated the Ida M. Reffett Debate Scholarship to foster outstanding La Porte High School speech and debate students.

  • Gifts by credit card incur a processing fee for each transaction which will be deducted from your gift. The current fee is 3.5% per transaction. When donating online, we invite you to select the option to increase your gift to cover this fee so that your charitable intent can be fully realized.
