Fund Story

The Jerry Peters Memorial Fund was established in memory of Jerry in 2014 by caring family members to support a wide variety of charitable causes.

Jerry Peters was born December 23, 1942 in Michigan City, Ind. to the late Fred R. and Ethel N. (Sigle) Peters, Jr. He taught English and retired from Rogers High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English and Master Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Indiana University. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Michigan City Education Association and the Mainstreet Association. Jerry organized the Michigan City Farmer’s Market, was active in the Teacher’s Union, President of the Festival Player’s Guild and was on the Board of Directors of First Trust Credit Union. His sister, Jacquelyn wishes to honor his memory and contributions to the people and youth of Michigan City.
