Fund Story

Bill and Sara (Pugsley) Carlisle are lifetime residents of Michigan City and cared for many families through their ownership of Carlisle Funeral Home located at 613 Washington Street, founded in 1926 by Bill’s grandparents, Harley J. and Ida A. (Runkle) Carlisle. Sara and Bill married in 1961 and have 3 children, Robert, Mary and Elizabeth. It is their wish to support the community in a lasting way by establishing the Carlisle Advised Fund.

  • You will receive a tax receipt electronically for your records once your donation is processed.
  • Gifts by credit card incur a processing fee for each transaction which will be deducted from your gift. The current fee is 3.5% per transaction. When donating online, we invite you to select the option to increase your gift to cover this fee so that your charitable intent can be fully realized.
