Fund Story

Tannehill Community Soup Kitchen (formerly the Downtown Emergency Soup Kitchen) was founded in 2023.

During the shutdown in 2020, several churches worked together to continue offering meals. The Downtown Emergency Soup Kitchen served lunch six days of the week and was led by our dedicated chef and volunteer coordinator, Erik Tannehill. He was passionate about serving others through food. After he passed, we renamed the soup kitchen in his memory.

Today, the Tannehill Community Soup Kitchen serves meals four days of the week with the help of volunteers, grants, community partners, and individual donors. Food is more than just sustenance- it connects us and is the heart of a healthy community. In 2024 alone, we served over 20,000 meals to families, seniors, and those facing hardship. Through collaborative efforts, we are ensuring those in need have access to nutritious meals.
