Mr. William Compton and his wife Katherine were long-time residents of La Porte. Mr. Compton played varsity baseball for La Porte High School and the University of Michigan. The Compton’s established the William Vernon Compton Scholarship in 2001 for La Porte High School students who are dedicated to furthering their education and who are most likely to succeed in their chosen field.

  • Gifts by credit card incur a processing fee for each transaction which will be deducted from your gift. The current fee is 3.5% per transaction. When donating online, we invite you to select the option to increase your gift to cover this fee so that your charitable intent can be fully realized.
