Community Fund grants come from the earnings on unrestricted endowed funds which were established by families, individuals and with help from the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc, private foundation. Former La Porte County residents John P. & Anne H. Daley, Ernest & Mildred Delco, John A. & Dorothy Sieb Carstens, Charles T. & Pauline J. Dye, Ruth W. Pollingue, and Philip A. Sprague left a memorial legacy to start Community Funds to strengthen the county for generations to come.

In addition to the grant applications, Unity Foundation’s annual report is available online on its web site at Past year grant recipients are listed in the report, along with articles about a variety of teacher grant opportunities, and special focus areas such as family and youth philanthropy and development of the Pine Lake project.
