Unity Foundation Community Grant Application Now Online
Applications now are online for Unity Foundation of La Porte County’s 2018 Community Fund
Grants also known as “Power for Good” grants.
In 2017, more than $137,000 was awarded to over 80 local nonprofit projects. The grants are
supported by earnings from unrestricted “Community Funds.”
The application for the annual grants is now available online
http://uflc.net/grants/community-grants/ to all nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations located in,
or serving La Porte County residents.
A committee of dedicated volunteers from throughout the county evaluates and awards grants
of up to $3,000 each. Eligible projects and programs fall into numerous categories, including
but not limited to, arts and culture, health, human services, environment, education, and
projects that strengthen La Porte County in meaningful ways.
The deadline for submitting this year’s Community Fund Grant applications is 11:59 p.m. CST
on Sunday, July 1. Organizations may submit two separate project grants for consideration.

local communities. As La Porte County’s community foundation, it manages nearly $33 million
in assets, administers more than 325 charitable fund, and has distributed more than $16
million through direct grants and scholarships. The Council on Foundations has deemed Unity
Foundation in compliance with all Indiana and national ethical and operating standards for
