The Unity Foundation of La Porte County is part of a network of Northwest Indiana foundations invited by the Lilly Endowment Inc., to apply for funding under Phase VI of the Endowment’s GIFT initiative.  This generous program allows the Unity Foundation of LaPorte County, Legacy Foundation, Porter County Community Foundation, and Crown Point Community Foundation

A resolution honoring Indiana’s community foundations and the field’s centennial anniversary was adopted this week by the Indiana Senate. “On the field’s 100th anniversary, we want to celebrate all the good work being done by community foundations throughout America and especially right here in Indiana,” said Senator Randy Head (R) Logansport, who offered the resolution.

Since 1992, the Unity Foundation of La Porte County has served donors, nonprofits and local communities. As La Porte County’s community foundation, it manages approximately $24 million in assets, administers more than 200 charitable funds, and has distributed nearly $10 million through direct grants and scholarships.
