College Go Week Workshop: How to Pay for College
The Michigan City High School Parent Network is sponsoring a workshop on Thursday September 26th from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to help families learn more about the many ways to help pay for college. It will be held at the MCHS Auditorium and is free.
The college planning workshop is designed for parents and grandparents who are within a few years of sending a child or grandchild to college. Attendees will learn the about national, state and local scholarships, what is financial aid, sources of financial aid, how to avoid costly financial aid mistakes, tips on completing the FAFSA, what is a financial aid awards package and avoiding scams. Parents, who have attended in the past, strongly recommend this session to others.
The Unity Foundation of LaPorte County who is a local provider of scholarships for LaPorte County residents will also give a short presentation on scholarships available in our area and information about the 21st Century Scholars Program.
